Il Santo Padre ha nominato membri del Pontificio Consiglio per la promozione dell'unità dei cristiani il card. Jean-Pierre Ricard, arcivescovo di Bordeaux e mons. Johan Jozef Bonny, vescovo di Antwerpen (Belgio). L'annuncio è stato dato questa mattina in una nota della sala stampa vaticana nella quale si dice anche che il Papa ha nominato Consultore dello stesso Pontificio Consiglio mons. Cyril Vasil', arcivescovo titolare di Tolemaide di Libia, segretario della Congregazione per le Chiese orientali. Il card. Ricard è anche vice-presidente del Consiglio delle Conferenze episcopali d'Europa. Fortemente impegnato nel campo del dialogo, dal 1 al 3 dicembre dello scorso anno aveva guidato una delegazione cattolica francese in visita a Mosca. Il 3 dicembre i membri della delegazione erano stati ricevuti dal Patriarca Kirill. The Holy Father appointed Archbishop Jean-Pierre Ricard of Bordeaux and Bishop Johan Jozef Bonny of Antwerp as members of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. It was announced this morning in a statement released by the Holy See Press Office. The statement also announced that the Pope appointed Mgr. Cyril Vasil’, Titular Archbishop of Ptolemais in Libya and Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, as consultant to the above-mentioned Pontifical Council. Card. Richard is also vice-president of the Council of Bishops’ Conferences of Europe. Showing a strong commitment to dialogue, Card. Ricard was the head of the French Catholic delegation that visited Moscow from 1 to 3 December last year, whose members were received by Patriarch Kirill on 3 December.
